This morning, birders Mike Y and Paige L found a few good warblers, one still hanging about and for "other" two good quality birds, respectively rare and uncomon finds.
First the continuing hung out warbler is the GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER , the female that has been hanging about the Ricks Place perimeter, a length of a long personal vacation, 2 weeks at least in this general area. The bird was seen along the Midwood slope or path below the Tunnel Arch stairs.
Also reported , a male HOODED WARBLER , less rare than the Golden bird, and uncommon WORM-EATING WARBLER in this Midwood trail near the steps from what info I gathered.
After a day writing to get the club newsletter done after a day late my deadline, I ventured out in Prospect midafternoon. A first stop into the Peninsula yielded single ground birds of OVENBIRD, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT along the lakeside, and followed by higher up birds of NORTHERN PARULA, YELLOW, etc.
Donna E joined me and we proceeded thru , until a small activity of birds occured at the sumac grove, where three BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER delighted us.Keir showed up and after seeing WHITE-EYED VIREO in the Chinese peppercorn tree, our threesome went up to the base of the Switchback Trail; here a CANADA WARBLER appeared, a female SCARLET TANAGER with a CHESTNUT -SIDED WARBLER in a locust above the Monument, then up the trail a number of birds became active, mostly AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES outnumbering AMERICAN REDSTARTS and one BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER.

Fro Mike Yuan:
Slowish this morning, but some pockets of fun on Lookout Hill on the
path east of Butterfly Meadow. Paige Linden and I had the good
fortune of finding a female Golden-winged, a Worm-eating, and a male
Hooded Warbler in the same bush near the dirt path that runs through
the Midwood from the broken stairs/Tunnel arch. Shortly after, we
viewed a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher next to the broken stairs, and
refound the Worm-eating and a second one on our second pass of the
dirt path.
