Thursday, April 4th, 6:30 P.M. The Warbler Guide by Tom Stephenson & Scott Whittle Presenter: Tom Stephenson | Tom became a birder at age 12, and grew up birding in Ithaca, NY under the tutelage of Dr. Arthur A. Allen and Dr. Peter Kellogg. He has gone on from there to publish articles and photos in Birding and Bird Watcher's Digest, at Surfbirds.com, and in the Handbook of the Birds of the World, to name a few. In the field, he has led birding groups in the US, South America and South Asia; including Bhutan, whose government engaged him to spend a month training local guides for their pristine country. He is an expert in digital audio editing and live sound mixing, a skill which he has applied to the recording and analysis of bird song. Cornell's Macaulay Library has received over 200 of his recordings. In July 2013, Princeton University Press will publish The Warbler Guide. |
