The wind is cold coming off Prospect Lake and my intention was the grebe. Its still there, our REDNECKED celebre along with the usual PIED BILLED. With no refuge from the gusty wind,I didn't stay long nor travel far with overcast gloomy skies.
The second merganser species of the three these past weeks is likely gone.No Red breasted after the Common left.Only HOODED remain, some 12 birds left. Same goes for few NORTHERN SHOVELERS.
The wind is a bugger, so the GREAT BLUE HERON is out of it staying aground on one of Three Sister Islands.
Not a great day to bird, but birds try their best to show up.
