Not seeing anything of note from earlier reports for the lake, this early eve, when I sometimes go for my customary walk to the park, I found among 12 --corrected from a previous field post--RING-NECKED DUCKS two different ducks.Among those guys and gals, is a mixed pair of LESSER SCAUP. They almost blended in too well , given the similarity to the Ring-necks but my sharp eye caught the dissimilar ducks..Glad to see the "something new" for the season.
Paul Chung took photos earlier of some of the waterfowl dignitaries on the lake, which you can access thru his gallery link with his note. The first six photos of Ruddy Duck, Ring-necked Duck and Red-Necked Grebe
Hi Peter,
Attached are a few pictures taken today at Prospect Lake. The Red Necked grebes were in the middle of the lake so the pictures are not as clear as the others.
