Reminder : Birdathon this Saturday

From teams coordinator Bobbi:

Saturday May 10th is International Migratory Bird Day, and this year’s Brooklyn Bird Club Birdathon will be dedicated to habitat protection in Prospect Park. The goal is to implement fencing along a long-neglected portion of the Peninsula shoreline and woodlands. Bitterns, Connecticut Warbler and other rarities have been seen in this area and with fencing; we could see much more bird activity in coming years.

If you haven’t signed up for a team but still want to participate there will be two walks that day.
Janet Schumacher will be leading a walk in Greenwood Cemetery.  Meet at 8 am at the entrance at PPW and 20th street.  Questions about meet location or weather, call 718-594-7480

In Prospect Park, Introduction To Birdwatching meets at Noon by the Audubon Center and will walk until 2:00.  Bring your own binoculars.
For both of these walks, you can solicit pledges from friends/families for how many birds you see, or you can make a donation and give it to the leader.

If you can't get out to bird that day, please consider supporting one of our teams, or making a donation to the fund. For more information on how to participate, contact Bobbi Manian at roberta.manian@yahoo.com
