Hi Peter,
After a delayed start this morning due to the rain, we had a nice 5+ hour walk today with six participants. The rain never really stopped completely but it was light enough that the birds were singing. In fact we heard more than we saw. We had at least 3 and maybe more bank swallows on the lake, often very close giving good looks. Overall there were high numbers of swallows on the lake. Lookout and the path above Wellhouse were active. We had nice looks at Blackburnian. We were taunted by several blue-wing warblers that were very elusive. I think a few people got on one of them. Also on Lookout finally a red-eyed vireo! No sign of the Cerulean, but the Solitary Sandpiper was still at the back of the Lillypond.
all-in-all a soggy but satisfying day.
Best,
Bobbi
