I haven't seen much of this species around and it's a shame as its old name "Snowbird" should be synonymous with our snow ground cover. The current absence of Prospect Chickadees, titmice and juncos- common winter species - makes our winter birding boring.
Ask yourself this: what would life be without these creatures, when the forest goes quiet? Support your conservation goals to increase and preserve habitats, critical stopover sites, and resolve unchecked development.
Here are some organizations to keep in mind
American Bird Conservancy
Boreal Birds Initiative https://www.borealbirds.org
National Audubon Society
Nature Conservancy
And various land trusts
Remember: National Geographic this year call it "The Year of The Bird" , on the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act
