The continuing three RED THROATED LOONS stationed in Prospect Lakes northwest corner today are now matched by three Drake RED BREASTED MERGANSERS hanging near Peninsula thumb.
Looking quite content under a brilliant sunny day,the loons are a tight group, basic plumaged birds ,a delight to see. It's amazing to think how one loon attracted two more to this moderate sized 60 acre lake. And the same spoken for the MERGANSERS, part of the wonders of migration.
Later, two Drake RING NECKED DUCKS appeared by West Island Gazebo as we're also a mixed pair AMERICAN WIGEON.
A DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANT was seen farther out on the Lake.
