The back woods path that runs behind the Pools has become of late the Hot Zone. Yesterday it was an Evening Grosbeak seen behind the Upper Pool; today it's two YELLOW THROATED WARBLERS by the Lower Pool gate.Call that spot the go to site for great birding.
Will Pollard found the first of the YELLOW THROATED WARBLERS just after 8 am above the Lower Pool gate. It turns out after he left as more birders came by responding to his tweet , a second bird came in the same area. I came by on my work shift and found out that one or both birds were frequenting the tall trees above the lower pool back view gate before crossing the path towards the Ravine. But before the rains came later on my second passby , at least one was spotted again next to the shoreline right of the gate. But my lunch hour was washed out as well as birders there already. Hopefully one or both birds will stick around into mid afternoon. One bird was reported to likely be of the Albilora race (accordong to Sean Sime) so keep your eye open for that.
