Monday happenings

A few interesting things to report for both Greenwood Cemetery (thankfully still open) and Prospect Park.

A Solitary Sandpiper was seen in the Dellwood Pool , walking along the mudflat corner at the south end. The juvenile Bald Eagle continues to hang out , i believe at Sylvan Water. Sylvan was also the scene of another Prothonotary Warbler in the area.  According to Rob J, warbler numbers and diversity was pretty good in the cemetery, expected as good winds overnight dumped the birds, kind of hampered by a morning western northwestern wind flow.

Meanwhile over at Prospect , the highlight is the always anticipated Kentucky Warbler. It was found by Linda E at the north Midwood, along or near the asphalt path that exits near the Zoo.It was last seen or heard heading south thru eastern Midwood woods.

Other good warblers in Prospect were reported. Hooded  by Quaker Cemetery entrance; Wilsons, Wormeating ,Bluewinged and Prairie by te Vale Cashmere Pool; Blackburnian at the Peninsula point at daybreak hour. Also Black billed Cuckoo, whereabouts unknown and flyover Common Loon alos were observed.

Non warblers are the following: Lincolns Sparrow and Yellow throated Vireo at Butterfly Meadow; White crowned Sparrow on Peninsula meadow woods edge; Orchard and Baltimore Oriole on Peninsula Point after daybreak...
