Greenwood Cemetery's Southwood Ave is rich with Sweetgum Trees. Therefore it's not surprising winter finches are drawn to this stretch of road.
Besides Dell Ave connected to Southwood, the spot at Southwood and Union Avenues had also a COMMON REDPOLL. This single bird was hanging out with American Goldfinches. Dell Avenue also hosted a few Redpolls mingling with Pine SISKINS today. It was bad back light today making it tough to distinguish both these very similar species.
I hope the birds stick around for awhile..
