For the second consecutive day, a kite flies over the cemetery. That along with several other rarities made Sunday a fulfilling day in two locales.
This morning the Mississippi Kite reappeared. And it was spotted a few times, last over the Crescent Water at Greenwood cemetery. It's an exciting moment and possibly sticking around as they have done in the past,I recalled in a Staten Island cemetery.
The Townsend's warbler was not found today but could still be around somewhere else in the big cemetery. For birders on the search, they did see Bald Eagle and Alder Flycatcher. And a single Purple Martin flew over the Crescent Water. The airspace there is cooking!
In Prospect two highlights to report.A Summer Tanager turned up in the Vale of Cashmere ; and near the Lullwater Bridge towards the cove or north side, a Prothonotary Warbler surfaces , upon branches I presumed, over the water surface.
A Yellow bellied Flycatcher is a strong possibility as reported today, residing on the slope between the Vale Cashmere and Rose garden
Check the Prospect checklist for other finds.
