For a transitory period as ducks come through, the lake offered some gems today.
I usually get out late to prospect but for lake stuff this is ok. And I'm happy to see a little variety. To keep things brief,I started off seeing the Drake Common Merganser in front of Three sisters islands. I would be happy just with that bird.
But a stop at west island, two Drake Ring necked ducks added good delight as this species is a cool bird for me. Both males were within the Canada geese flock. Adding to that, two hen Hooded Mergansers makes more spice to my short list. One more hoodie was at Three sisters as I had a second hand report of wood ducks but nay to that.
But I can say this: there were no Gators seen on my walk. 🤗
