On my off day, Eastern Phoebe was everywhere. From my perspective, it was the most ubiquitous bird for me in two different places .
This morning I had to move my car due to alternate side. Rainy weather even if spitter spatter dampers birding but that didn't stop me from going to greenwood cemetery. Besides I was hoping to catch that cattle Egret I didn't have a chance yet. First to the 4 th avenue entrance , then Sylvan water produced no luck. But at the latter, Phoebe phantasy! All around the southern shore. Eastern Phoebe flew everywhere just about perching on everything. I counted about 15 .
But I'm happy getting new things. And within the Phoebe amusement park, I on my third attempt, saw a gorgeous Palm Warbler by the filtration station , the bird working the bank, followed by 2 more later. Then heading back to my car I happened upon a first year Pine Warbler drab as the dreary day also on the shore. A visit to dellwater to chase a missed Brown Thrasher led me to meeting Maureen who when I caught up to her mentioned she had an Orange crowned Warbler by the Dell water water pipe. Darn i missed again!
Later after a rest home I set out again for Prospect to pursue a Northern Waterthrush report . After all its my day off and I wanted to make the most of it. Not much to report except nice looks on the lake a pair of buffleheads reddish Ruddy Ducks and wood ducks at three sisters and duck islands. Then a great egret inside Hammerhead east cove, looking serene in the water .An Osprey flew over .Oh and plenty more of that day bird the Eastern Phoebe!
