We believe access to nature is a fundamental right. The Natural Areas Conservancy celebrated the completion of New York City's 250-mile trail network in June. With volunteers, community members, and partners, we:  🗺️ Installed 10,000 blazes to aid wayfinding 🔨 Built 59 trail structures to improve safety and accessibility  🤝 Engaged 600 volunteers who logged over 3,100 hours to boost forest health 💡 Launched a campaign to improve awareness of NYC's nature trails Celebrate 250 miles—Give $250 Today! It's been five years since we launched the Strategic Trails Plan for New York City, and that milestone feels more important than ever. Now everyone can explore a world-class trail system without leaving the five boroughs! This effort was made possible by over 150 dedicated volunteers – our Pathkeepers – alongside our partners at NYC Parks. Together, we've nurtured these spaces so that New Yorkers can access nature and build community in one of the world's busiest cities. Our work doesn't stop here.
