The mega rarity was literally topped by another spectacular rarity today in Greenwood Cemetery.
The continuing Townsend's Warbler stuck to its loyal roots at Cypress Ave. Reported on that road by Zephyr Path, all eyes looking up, when some birders saw a flyover Mississippi Kite! Photos confirmed the Kite as it flew in a southeasterly direction. A great moment regarding two high quality rairites in one spot.
Meanwhile over in neighboring Prospect, two standouts. Another Mourning Warbler was reported at Butterfly Meadow. Another Mourning called in NorthLullwater. Then at the Dongan Oak eagle monument, a confirmed Bicknells Thrush skulked on the north side of the eagle. The call gave away its true identity.
For more quality, add Alder Flycatchers to the days list. Two birds sang away on Lookout Hill and in the Midwood.
