The PINE WARBLER after my run in with Sean Sime in the Ravine and his word of three under the Lullwater Bridge, didn't occur there but the first spot the day before: the pine grove at the Terrace Bridge.A handsome bright yellow male Pine Warbler , the bird worked it's way thru one pine, then traveled abit to the open woods away from the big bridge; at one point it landed on the ground near the fence where I saw wonderful looks.
The other significant observation ? There's an EASTERN PHOEBE party going on.From the Lullwater Bridge where I saw at least 12 phoebes flying all over the place nearby, I wound up with 28 EAPH , the last at Peninsula Meadow from the Lullwater. There might be an all night party spilling over to today.
And last , a lighthearted moment. Yesterday , as I finally got cooperation from the skulking LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH , I saw this bird at the weir at the Ravine pool mouth, alight on a floating green tennis Ball.Funny... Love anyone ? (if you keep score)
By the way, the Lake celebres RED NECKED GREBEs trio continue, as usual....

Today at 6:47 AM Finally, a good day to visit Prospect Park (01 April 2014). After heard about a Louisiana Waterthrush, I did my usual route around the Park. My first warblers were along the Lullwater, where I saw about 4 individuals of "Myrtle" (Yellow-rumped). The continuing Red-necked Grebe in the lake, had multiplied, I saw 3 of them. A very rare bird for the Park. Later, with the help of other birders, the Louisiana Waterthrush came in view, and I did have a chance to take a picture. To see them go to: ticornis.tumblr.com Brooklyn is great birding: Rafa Campos R
