Prospect Warblers and Vireo

Two warbler species and a Vireo outshone the missing Black Scoter today .

One warbler species seen by Linda Ewing was a late BLACKPOLL seen in the Sparrowbowl by the Tennis House. This warbler was supported by two different NASHVILLES, Sometimes found this late in season, one was reported by Tom K on the Lefrak green roof at the rink;the other by Will Pollard below the Maryland Monument.

Regarding the vireo, its a BLUE HEADED also found by Linda below the Maryland Monument , a low convincing bird.

Apparently the salty seabird Black Scoter didn't want to stick around as freshwater isn't to its taste. The tweet source was Will's.

The Lake has other duck residents passing through. This afternoon, Kathy Toomey found 8 BUFFLEHEADS and 3 GADWALLs wading on the lake. They must've scooted that scoter. :)
