- Comments: "Spotted by Michael Silber below the Maryland Monument just before 8. We then tracked it up the switchback trail where we eventually lost it, but got good enough looks by then to strongly lean Golden-Winged Warbler rather than any sort of hybrid, and Michael got a photo that seems to confirm it. Seemingly a female and perhaps a young one, with a dark gray throat, yellow cap, and yellow wings, and I never saw even a hint of yellow below. Uncommon migrant and a county bird for me. Lots of other birders came to chase the bird but when I left just before 10 no one had had a glimpse of it for about an hour, and the whole mixed flock it seemed to be moving with had moved elsewhere and/or dispersed. Thanks to Michael for the awesome find."

"Migrations speak to us, not just as observers, but as integral parts of nature."
