A fine afternoon at the lake

I had to refill the feeders after a long spell absent. But passing by the lake on the way back proved very fortuitous. I found myself some good ducks and nice numbers too.

Originally, my first spot were two drake Common Mergansers in the lake middle. But after running into my friend Donna on the west shore, that number increased to six. When I got home ,reading Ebird alert reports, I read someone  today had 11 Common mergansers, a darn good number for prospect.

Theres more. 6 Hooded Mergansers also occupied the lake and an equal number of Ring necked Ducks stayed by West Island ice edge.

Well it's that time of year as February draws to its end.
