Hi Peter,

I led the club's first Sunday walk from the Boathouse yesterday. We had a great group and a surprisingly good day given the date (June already!). We encountered seven warbler species, including several Magnolia and a singing but unseen Blackburnian, and quite a few migrants that had paired up and are likely going to breed in the park: Great-crested Flycatcher, Eastern Kingbird, and Baltimore Oriole. An Indigo Bunting was still singing at the Butterfly Meadow, which was also the site of a late-migrating Hermit Thrush, in Arleen's Pines. So there are still lots of birds around. We observed 51 species, and here is our list: https://ebird.org/checklist/S245529119.

The first Sunday walk will be on vacation in July and August, returning in September.
