Hi Peter,

Happy belated Halloween! The walk was fantastic, I'd say about 30-35 people, with a mix of newer and more seasoned participants. Some highlights include watching a kestrel go INTO the monk parakeet nest, then chase off another kestrel, followed by some great hovering above us. It really got everyone excited for the walk.

I'll attach a list of all the species we saw below:

- Monk Parakeet
- American Kestrel
- Palm Warbler
- European Starling
- Blue Jay
- American Robin
- Northern Cardinal
- Dark-eyed Junco
- White-throated Sparrow
- Northern Mockingbird
- American Crow (presumably, did not vocalize)
- Common Raven
- Red-tailed Hawk
- Cooper's Hawk
- Chipping Sparrow
- Purple Finch
- Ruby-crowned Kinglet
- Golden-crowned Kinglet
- American Goldfinch
- Red-bellied Woodpecker
- Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
- Northern Flicker
- Hermit Thrush
- Canada Goose
- Common Grackle
- Tufted Titmouse (heard only)
- White-breasted/ Red-breasted Nuthatch (heard only)

Thank you for asking me to lead this walk! It was a ton of fun and everyone had a great time! :- )

Best,
Megan
