Tweet "able" birds

For those of you who I follow on Twitter BBC Kingsboids, ( https://twitter.com/BBCKingsbirds )  the following list includes species Highlighted in YELLOW available for tweets I received on my account.

This list covers only Brooklyn & Queens sightings.... based on the species rarity or uncommon frequency . The twitter accounts I follow only post birds under this protocol ( not general personal tweets to keep my account purelyfor rare to uncommon birds or unususual events like massed flocks, high warbler activity "waves" etc in Kings and Queens) . Some twitterers I might turn on the notifications on my cell phone... ( because I do work full time)

Of Course , if a MEGA RARITY  ( not on the list below, bird outside of Northeastern range, a extralimital species) , in kings or Queens, tweet it.

if u want this list, email me....

Hi Peter,

Today I saw a flock of five Least Sandpipers together. They stayed around for longer than one hour, until I left.
Also the European Goldfinches are back. I saw two of them but there could be more.
Here are the pictures. The Goldfinch picture is not clear but this the best I've got.

Gus

@railbabbler: At path above wellhouse PP today there was a silent Empid, looked like long primary projection so perhaps Acadian. Also AMRE BAWW EWPee etc

a short prospect morning walk

My short morning Prospect walk had a few warblers and some other expected birds, from Lookout hill to the Peninsula.

First a Black & white warbler female made its appearance at the fringes of Butterfly  meadow. Some Cedar  waxwings popped in view at the mead edge with a single American Goldfinch.

However more action happened at the peninsula tip. There a  young male Yellow warbler spotted with an American Redstart juvenile  female type; tthen from my view at the shelter,i see across at Duck Island where more activity  was seen in a Box Elder. A few Yellow warblers mingled with as far as i saw Warbling Vireos,a known breeder here.

On my way out, a Spotted Sandpiper flew across the Lake to the peninsula shoreline,an adult happily teetering along.

Early fall action always excites.
