Hello again,
We desperately need volunteers for the coming Saturday, Sept. 29th, at the Return-a-Gift pond planted areas. Please don't let the Mugwort, Oriental Bittersweet and Porcelain Berry overwhelm all of your good work. We have a weeding method where you can concentrate on one species of the invaders at a time.
We can meet at the small parking lot at the main entrance to Floyd Bennett Field at 9:00 AM. Tools and gloves will be supplied, If you only work for the morning, that will be fine. We need any help you can give. Thank you.
Best regards, Ron

Subject: Thursday Walk
Hi Peter,
We experienced a major change of the walk today....weather....! Good weather. And good bird activity. We had 62 species including 16 warbler species.
Highlights included 2 Tennessee Warblers, Blackburnian, Blackpoll, lots of Parulas, Pine, Palm, Least and Acadian Flycatchers (modified ID after looking at photos; we thought maybe it was a yellow-bellied but was Acadian...), a stunning Blue-headed Vireo, 2 falcon species: American Kestrel and Merlin, Osprey, both Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks, and the remaining juvenal Great Cormorant.
Here's the list.
Best regards,
Tom
