Hi Peter,
Another perfect beautiful spring day, with at most 50 people, especially once we entered the Vale. It was one person's first BBC walk, she was great and I can tell she will be on more walks. We also had a few people from out of town.
We ended up with 63 wonderful species. (unless I missed something)
The group got a bit spread out around the vale, a good problem to have since 1/2 were on a Magnolia and 1/2 were on a male indigo bunting. The showstopper appearance of the 3 Scarlet Tanagers made photographers happy and the folks that had to leave around 9am with a great ending bird.
We were near Rick's place when someone in the group looked on Discord and saw the Yellow breasted Chat alert so 75% of the group left to go chase it.
Some returned to the group when we took a break by the picnic house.
Megan did a perfect job with intro's and keeping folks focused once birds were found. Lisa also gave great easy to follow instructions to make sure everyone saw the bird -and helped me find boulder bridge since I got caught in a conversation and didn't turn right :)
Thanks to Amy who volunteered and compiled an ebird list to keep things grouped and stayed until Upper pool. Part two list was compiled by Lisa until the boathouse. I stuck with the few until 2pm at Binnen Bridge. Then the 3 left in the group headed back to the Vale to try for the Chat (again).
