Subject: today's highlights
hey Peter,
Greenwood Cemetery, around 1PM, three Red-tailed Hawks appeared very high above Sylvan Water. Two of them locked talons and then started to fall. As they fell, they began to spin like the blades of a helicopter. Four or five seconds later, they disappeared behind a tree. I was wondering if they crash landed, but within a few minutes, the 3 hawks reappeared above Sylvan. It was amazing! Lower to the ground, primarily, there were Palm, Pine, and Yellow-rumped Warblers, Ruby Kinglets, and lots of Hermit Thrushes - 12 maybe, just around Sylvan Water.
In Prospect Park, pretty quiet. Highlight was Brown Thrasher and B&W Warbler.
Best,
Karen
