A beautiful day that saw much quiet bird activity. Based on Kathy Toomey's report and my own observance en route to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden thru the park, the Terrace Bridge offered the most notable sightings.
Besides the reported LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH along the shoreline below the bridge, a few PINE WARBLERS and an odd FIELD SPARROW is all the park can muster today. The FIELD flew low over the bridge and landed in an oak and started the odd behavior of fly catching like its companion warblers. I never seen that before with this sparrow species. Something new to learn every time.
Also note the appearance of a second WHITE EYED VIREO joining Greenwood Cemetery's bird ,the site seeing the season first BALTIMORE ORIOLE in the local region.
