Pocket birding spots

I heard it was pretty good today in Prospect Park ( as well as greenwood), not fallout conditions but rather small pockets of mixed flocks in various spots in the park. Not elaborating others I spoke to ,but rather my own little pocket spot.

From conversations I had with friends in the field, various spots had little flurry of activity: Karen at the Hammerhead ( seeing a Canada Warbler for example); Matt B on Lookout Hill ; and Chris at the Giant Willow Oak at Peninsula meadow. I had my own at Esdale Bridge.

After I left work at 4, I took my usual birding route thru the ravine. But a stop at the Esdale Bridge kept me there awhile. Why? Well there are warblers flying around ,perching on different shrubs and other limbs, stones ,and dead wood . Most prominent were a pair of American Redstarts. Adding to the mix were Black throated Blue pair including the gorgeous male; Black and white warbler; Magnolia and always my fall favorite Chest nut sided which offered me a very close glimpse below my bridge spot. Just wonderful to see this bird !

I think I totaled 7 warblers, not bad for a post work day .
