This morning according to Will Pollard the Gallinule was cooperative by the first Peninsula point from the Wellhouse dirt trail. A Gingko Grove marks the base of this point.
Later in mid-afternoon when I ventured out,I ran into Bob and Peggy. Bob said he saw the bird walking on the ice along the phragmites from the second point marked by a rescue ladder.
It's remarkable all this time this Gallinule was missing ,flying under the radar appears on CBC day just at the right time for an experienced birder ( Michelle Dreger) to see it. Luck was on our side.
