Yellow-crowned Night Heron (Nyctanassa violacea) (1)

- Comments: "Flagged for date (early), and somewhat unusual in the park. The location was also unexpected: This adult was perched extremely high in the treetops in the Midwood, across from the zoo. That said, I've seen American Bitterns in the same context, so maybe it was the same deal: migrating through, and deciding to spend the day in the top of a tree? Photos. 40.6643892, -73.9667241"

- Comments: "Flagged for date. Continuing in the Vale, where this bird was pretty silent, unlike in other reports, and only popped out once. Maybe it's been more vocal in the afternoon? Photos."
