Theres been concern about the lingering drake on Prospect Lake where obviously something seems wrong with it.
I wrote a note today to Bobby Horvath of WINORR , Wild life in need of rescue and rehabilitation and explained to him the situation.
The reply is there isn't much we can do with a free moving wild bird that doesn't come close enough to get netted.
So we have to let nature take its course.
Keep me posted if u see it in worse shape.
There is something we can ALL do.If you see fishing line or hooks on the ground or in reach,pick it up or grab it carefully and discard it inside a bag into a trash receptacle. We do get irritated by careless indifferent fishermen but its up to us to save the birds.
