BATP4 Glaucous Gull continuing

Glaucous Gull (Larus hyperboreus) (1)
- Reported Feb 19, 2026 09:55 by Linda Ewing
- Brooklyn Army Terminal Pier 4, Kings, New York

- Comments: "On pier just north of BAT, hanging on barge-like structure (labeled "Hughes") with other gulls. Ann and Dave were on it and pointed it out. Even with head tucked, it stood out for its pale, creamy plumage. It untucked long enough for a good scope view of its bill, which was mostly pink with a black tip. I was initially puzzled by its size - it didn't look sufficiently big and menacing, instead appearing similar in size/shape to surrounding Herrings - but when it finally took flight (briefly) it was impressively big and beefy."
