Brown hawk with hooded look and very long wings, was not present when i first arrived but then returned to its usual perch after a few minutes, heralded by an explosion of scared starlings. thanks nick for lending me optics, which i forgot at home, and thanks MCHL for diligently keeping lookout and alerting us of the bird's inevitable return"
