- Prospect Park--Prospect Lake, Kings, New York

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S383265230
- Comments: "My favorite empid: ID-able by sight. High-contrast wings and low-contrast throat on small, yellow flycatcher. Made one "twseeeo" call when I picked it up north of duck island, past LeFrak in the corner of the lake at the base of Breeze Hill. Went into the canopy and fell silent. Several local sightings this week right on time for the normal fall window for this species."

- Comments: "How much time do you have? Short version: seen and heard well with mob as it flitted around the flycatcher party with at least one other Empid at duck island. At least one looked very Alder-y: round head, narrow eye-ring, cute bill. Thanks to Forrest for the alert -- I was on the flycatcher-free west side of the lake. Though the bird stopped calling by the time I hustled over, about an hour later (after the lake Zamboni finished cleaning the area), another birder and I listened to it"pip" for 10 good minutes straight, subtle but distinct among the omnipresent robin and house sparrow "cheeps". The other birder got long recordings. I didn't. Why? For that, there is the long version. TBD .."
