How sweet it is . My spark boid in a golden light

One advice I say to birders: when bird forecasts say it'll be good you have to take it with a grain of salt . When the tough gets going, be glad sometimes to get your spark bird.

I like to err on the side of caution and not get overeager with rosy bird forecasts. Today was sort of hard for no cooperation from birds that were mostly hidden from view, in smaller numbers than anticipated, or tough seeing with the full leaf out and misses when told there's something . So was the case in Greenwood Cemetery where I went to on my day off away from the office. With help from Michael and Julian, frustration led to gladness as both friends help me see my spark bird ,a Scarlet Tanager!

The male Tanager shone brightly in the golden sunlight, perched on a sweet gum tree branch, sitting awhile and preening itself . So I had to say quoting the great Jackie Gleason " How Sweet it is!". This in my 50th anniversary is a complete cycle. How would it look if I missed the bird this year? 😄

Thanks to Michael and Julian as well as newfound friend Mark being part of today's great moment.
