Prospect Linnaean Society walk

Saturday, November 11, 2017, We initiated our trip to Prospect Park with our wonderful leader,
Steve Nanz showing us two Vesper Sparrows, one at the northwest section of the Nethermeed and the
other at Breeze Hill. Another highlight was a Nashville Warbler foraging in the Lull Water with a Swamp Sparrow. Steve found the birds and also showed them to us in his scope. Miriam Rakowski spotted
a Blue-headed Vireo. We concluded the walk with a Pied-billed Grebe.

Earlier, before the trip began, Steve found four American Pipits on the fields, A Merlin snatched one of them.
It is best to look for these birds between 7 and 8 am before there is activity in the fields.
