The Brooklyn Bird Club presents a special summer film screening!

"Young of the Year"

Tuesday, July 17th @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Brooklyn Public Library, Central Branch at Grand Army Plaza

Between the predators, the tourists, and the long migration ahead, life is a challenge for the roseate tern, especially during the first summer of life. This documentary follows the first summer of life for a cohort of terns as they prepare for their first long migration from the coast of Massachusetts to the beaches of Brazil.

Presented by filmmaker Kris Holodak, a screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with Kris about her experiences in creating this film.

Summer bush terminal

From Matthew Wills :

Hey Peter, looks like two  Killdeer hatchlings at Bush Terminal, in the fenced-in lot to left as you enter. Parent Killdeer screaming at 3 stalking Kestrels. Also amazing scene of very low flying Laughing Gs hunting swarm of green June bugs.
