A letter went out yesterday from assemblyman Mike Miller to Joseph Martens, Director of NYSDEC to label it protected wetland.
Of urgent concern for this endangered preserve targeted by the NYC Parks department and the need to publicize this wonderful spot, bird sightings will henceforth be posted on this blog. Please send your reports to me if u bird Ridgewood Reservoir.
Yesterday,Tinsley Perky reported rare REDHEAD DUCKS, 4 birds in the middle basin. Though fenced off, the water can be seen from the north side, by the pump house as I recalled. I will remember when I lead the trip there in middle May.See the photo on BBC Facebook
