The first COMMON NIGHTHAWK appeared 7:10 ,setting sunlight shimmering off the bird as I walked along Center Drive.From various stops on the Nethermead to the southern section,I enjoyed Prospect's highest count this fall.In one scan binocular sweep,as all the birds gathered in one area of the sky above the forest of the lower Ravine,by Nethermead Bridge,I counted 8 birds.A few birds flew over me at south Nethermead.
I left 7:45 as dusk descended and bats and swifts took over from there as I quickly took off..
