Subject: Prospect Park, Brooklyn, Jan 3, 2015
My first walk for the year 2015 at Prospect Park. Nothing unusual, except for 2 Chipping Sparrows seen near the Maryland Monument, feeding along with 3 Juncos. I took some pictures.
The feeders were more or less active, and it is worth mentioning a lonely Fox Sparrow.
Both pools were almost frozen, and so was much of the Lullwater. And the lake have some open water, full with waterfowl and gulls. The Vale had the water frozen, and the activity there was mainly by White-throated Sparrows.
And the ballfields, were packed with Canada Geese, over 100+ individuals.
By noon, the first snow flakes started to fall, and I went home.
