Stakeout for an Orange crownwd warbler

I am a happy camper today because I saw an Orange crowned warbler. Thankfully my friend Joe was around as this bird camouflages well and hard to spot.

In the past week or so,one of my favorite Warblers has been hanging out by the well drive shipping containers. But I always miss it or didn't have the time to look. It's not a flashy warbler but a gritty one given its cold season preference and survivability ; but also it's plumage blends so well, subtle tones that softly reflects its coloration.

So.. I decided to stakeout the bird this afternoon. Fortunately my park freind Joe happened along and both of us waited. Joe's sharper eyes picked up Ruby crowned kinglet,Carolina wren ,cardinal and then appearing on the fence after a half hour wait was my happy bird the orange crowned Joe spotted.

The warbler cooperated so well that i observed it for over a minute on that fence or along it and after landing on the ground ,reappeared for a half minute more before flying upslope. A great moment for me (and Joe) for a bird that I don't luckily see much.
