- Comments: "I have burned literal HOURS of my life over the last week and a half, plus the time I put in the last two years, looking at a whole lot of NOTHING from the north end of the lake, praying for this exact moment… and it was worth every second. Huge tern, thick red bill, black wingtips, westbound over lake at exactly 8:00. Did not circle around at all, as they have apparently done in the past. I was just about to give up on my lake watch before it flew by—thank god I took one final glance. Very very long-awaited patch bird for me 🙂
