I was holidaying in NYC (from the UK) this July and spent a few hours in Prospect Park early morning on 25th.
I found this bird in the Lakeside area. Any ideas on what it might be, and where it's escaped from? I haven't been able to find a match for it. Presumably one or more of the regular birders saw it, but I didn't see any reports on your newsboard.
