Phil Paine came through with a great sighting this morning atop Lookout Hill by Butterfly Meadow before 7 am with a female GOLDEN WINGED WARBLER sighting.
After leaving the meadow area , Phil ran into Linda Ewing and both headed back to the Hill top for the bird. But it cooperated with its sighting at the dirt switchback trail by the Maryland Monument, this GOLDEN WINGED reappearing in the brush next to the trail for a brief spell before it flew upward the slope parallel to the Monument stairs. I missed out shortly after reading the twitter tweets. It has not been reported since as the day got warmer.
