Mew Gull (European) (Larus canus canus) (1)
- Reported Feb 24, 2021 08:24 by Doug Gochfeld
- Prospect Park--Prospect Lake, Kings, New York
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=40.6553787,-73.9686421&ll=40.6553787,-73.9686421
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S82267208
- Comments: "***Very rare. Continuing immature bird. Arrived some time between 08:40 (when it was not present on the lake), and ~09:30 when we re-focused attention on the gull flock and found it standing on the ice asleep. Starting to noticeably wear off or molt out some of the smudgy brown collar and breast markings, and bill perhaps a bit brighter than when first located here two weeks ago. Walked around a bit, but was mostly sleeping. Still on the ice when we left just before 10:30. Park bird for pops. Photos, video."
