Belatedly, two reports from Thursdays sightings might still be fresh of Dickcissels. The historic deluge yesterday might have kept them down.
One report comes from Bush Terminal Pier Park in the western sector, near Aspen trees . Closer to home a second Dickcissel was found at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens Rose Garden, hanging out with House Sparrows.
Also late reporting Thursday had a Connecticut Warbler in Prospects north Midwood. Again it's a possibility the bird could not migrate due to the big storm.
American Wigeons are seen on Prospect Lake as fall ducks begin to migrate.
