A special gull for brooklyn

With a rare gull coming down the Hudson River ,Enrico L from his NYC spot reported a Black legged Kittiwake. Even better the bird landed in Brooklyn waters.

And that Brooklyn spot happened to be Veterans pier. One of the best gull roosts around, Veterans pier near Owls head park hosted the kittiwake offshore. Seen in the distance first north of the pier, it ventured closer before seen on a flyby at Bush Terminal Park; then it flew back to Veterans.

A mostly pelagic gull, seeing a Kittiwake in close confined NYC Waters is indeed special. Too bad most of us have to work.
