The slow awakening from winter's thaw begins as early migrants begin their appearances in Prospect Park.
By the Terrace Bridge, a BELTED KINGFISHER showed up for several birders. On the bridge the continuing PINE WARBLER reappeared.
Then a typical migrant of March migration, a RUSTY BLACKBIRD put in its appearance. The adult bird walked around the wooded section between the Lullwater Bridge and Lullwater Cove, along the fence at the trail leading to the platform. Kathy Toomey reported the sighting.
