Subject: First Sunday of Month bird walk from the Prospect Park boathouse

A dozen birders joined Michelle on this windy, chilly Sunday morning. We mainly birded around the lake and were rewarded with 9 species of ducks including a beautiful male Hooded Merganser, Buffleheads, Green winged teals, a Gadwall and an American Wigeon. Grebes and coots were also present.

A Blue headed vireo was among a nice assortment of sparrows on the southern Lefrak roof area.

Phoebes and Yellow-rumped warblers were plying the edges of the lake.

(It was too much trouble to include the Blue-headed vireo in eBird list but it was close and low.)
