Just about the most "exciting" thing on this hot ,extremely slow day--albeit a few warblers and the native goldfinches in Butterfly Meadow--was a European Goldfinch, an exotic species . The escapee was spotted drinking at the water spot , along the road on the east edge of the Peninsula meadow where the road forks ( to pink beach) . As I drove by , the bird flew up into the cherry tree.Just a Yellow warbler and House Sparrows were its companions.
